Owners outside the U.S.

Do you have a U.S. LLC and live outside the country?

Having an LLC with no income does not necessarily mean you have no obligations with the IRS. We review your LLC, identify what applies to your case and prepare the corresponding forms.

Different time zone? We schedule around yours.

Often overlooked

Form 5472 and the pro forma 1120

Some single-member LLCs with a foreign owner must file Form 5472 together with a pro forma Form 1120 each year, when there are reportable transactions. Contributions from the owner, distributions and formation costs usually count as such. The penalty for not filing can start at 25,000 dollars.

  • EIN

    EIN without an SSN

We prepare and handle your EIN application with the IRS, including when you have no SSN or ITIN, where that applies.

  • W-7

    ITIN application

Your personal tax ID, to file or to claim treaty benefits.

  • 5472

Form 5472 and pro forma 1120

Prepared and filed on time, with the transaction record the IRS expects you to keep.

  • AGENT

    Registered agent in North Carolina

A legal address in the state that receives your official mail and tells you what arrived.

  • ANNUAL

    State annual report

The filing your company owes the state every year, tracked so the date never slips.

  • BANK

    Banking and payment platforms

We prepare the documents banks, Stripe and PayPal ask a foreign-owned company for.

Legal tax savings

Saving on taxes is not a trick. It is a decision made on time.

These are ordinary provisions of the tax code. The money is lost by not knowing they exist, or by finding out once the year has already closed.

S-Corp

S-Corporation election

In some businesses, an S-Corp election can lower employment taxes. It requires the owner to take reasonable compensation for the work they do.

199A

Qualified business income

Up to 20% of qualified business income, if you qualify. There are limits by type of activity and by income level.

179

Section 179 and depreciation

Certain equipment and vehicles used in the business may qualify for an accelerated deduction, within the limits and requirements the law sets.

SEP

Retirement plan

A SEP-IRA or a Solo 401(k) can lower your taxable income, within each year’s contribution limits, and the money stays yours.

8829

Home office

If you use part of your home regularly and exclusively for a qualifying business, certain expenses may be deductible.

TREATY

Tax treaties

If your country has a treaty with the United States, it may change what is withheld from you, depending on what that treaty says and on your situation.

Whether each of these applies depends on your numbers and your circumstances. In the consultation we review which strategies may apply to your case.

Process

A process that is simple, clear and secure

You know the price before any work begins, and your documents travel through a protected channel.

  1. 01

    Free consultation

Fifteen minutes to go over your situation. Once we have assessed the case, you get a closed price in writing, before any work begins.

  2. 02

    You send us the documents

We give you an exact list of the documents needed and agree with you on a secure channel to send them. That keeps your information organised and protected.

  3. 03

    You review, then we file

We walk you through the result before anything is sent. You approve it, we file electronically, and you keep a copy of everything filed.

Questions

What clients ask before hiring us

How much does it cost to prepare my taxes?

It depends on how complex the return is. You get a closed price in the free consultation, before any work begins, and it does not change afterwards.

I don’t have a Social Security number. Can you help me?

Yes. We work with ITINs and we can file the W-7 application for you, together with your return when that is the right route.

Can you remove debts from my credit report?

Only the ones reported incorrectly. If your report has errors, such as an account that is not yours or a payment marked late that you made on time, we dispute them with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. A real, accurately reported debt cannot legally be removed: anyone who promises that is misleading you. What we do is build a plan to get you current and build your history. And if you prefer, you can dispute errors yourself, for free.

I haven’t filed in years. Is it too late?

No. Back years can still be filed, and in many cases penalties can be reduced or removed. The sooner it is handled, the better the outcome.

Should I be an LLC or an S-Corp?

It depends on how much the business earns. Below a certain profit the S-Corp election costs more than it saves. In the consultation we review the numbers for your case.

I live outside the U.S. Can you handle everything remotely?

Yes. Formation, EIN, bookkeeping and filings are all done remotely. Documents are signed electronically and we schedule calls in your time zone.

Do you work in English?

Yes, in English and Spanish, with the same person handling your file in either language.
